ABSTRACT
Next we study three types of one-dimensional interpolation: polynomial, piecewise linear, and cubic spline. The MATLAB functions implementing these methods are discussed along with some additional software developed by the authors to differentiate and integrate splines. A simple discussion of cubic spline interpolation formulated from the viewpoint of elastic beam ßexure is given. The chapter concludes with a program to compute Þnite difference formulas for derivatives of general order.
