ABSTRACT
This type of study is uncontrolled because there is no control group to use for comparison. If there was a difference between pretest and posttest scores, it would be impossible to determine whether the change was due to unreliability of the measuring instrument or an actual change in the individual. These studies assume that any difference between measurements is due to unreliability of the measuring device.
