ABSTRACT
Th is chapter compares all these methods with each other. Th e benchmark truss structure used for this purpose is described in Figure 26.1. It consists of 12 bays of 140 mm each, made of steel bars of 4 mm diameter connected with plastic joints and it is clamped at the bottom. It is equipped with two active struts (piezo transducer + force sensor) as indicated in the fi gure.
