Description of Stage 8 In the production stage, the development team will essentially perform the detailed element design, produce and test the elements, assemble the elements into a system or product, and test the integrated system or product. Production may be of the entire system, or may be carried out in increments. ACDM may seem to be waterfall in nature, but ACDM can be used to iteratively develop the system or product. In addition to the technical activities associated with producing the system or product, another essential activity of this stage is tracking and oversight of the production activities. The managing engineer will work with general project management to ensure that the team is adhering to the production plan, detecting deviations, and taking corrective action as necessary.
