ABSTRACT

As briefly described in Chapter 2, drying is a complex process. Although drying does not involve reactions, the treatment shown in Chapter 9 can be applied to provide a reasonable model for the drying of solid particles. For this model, the following assumptions should be applied:

a) All drying is assumed to take place during the second period. Therefore, the first drying period would be neglected, and all water would be transferred
