Andreas Ostendorf The pulse operation mode of lasers has been of great interest for laser developers and engineers for a long time. The following chapter provides an overview on the different principles of generating short laser pulses. In the case of concrete specifications for the pulse width these are defined by the full width at half maximum (FWHM) method.
