ABSTRACT
Shell-and-tube heat exchangers are the most versatile type of heat exchangers. They are used in the process industries, in conventional and nuclear power stations as condensers, steam generators in pressurized water reactor power plants, and feed water heaters, and they are proposed for many alternative energy applications including ocean, thermal, and geothermal. They are also used in some air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
