ABSTRACT

In the present chapter, we study the one-loop amplitude of bosonic string theory. Our example is the simplest one: closed, oriented bosonic strings in 26-dimensional Euclidean space. 1 The action is the Polyakov action () S = 1 2 π ∫ ∑ g d 2 ξ γ γ α β ∂ α X μ ∂ β X μ − λ 4 π ∫ ∑ g d 2 ξ γ R https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315275826/f89ac38d-581c-4b20-9248-de0a1dc00421/content/eq4670.tif"/>
