ABSTRACT

The term multicast refers to a message that has many designated receivers, i.e., one-to-many communication as opposed to one-to-one communication. This situation arises in the context of a network of users in which it is possible to send messages simultaneously to all of the users. We will not be concerned with the mechanics of doing this; we will just assume this is an inherent property of the network being considered. In this chapter, we are interested in the study of security in the context of a multicast network.
