ABSTRACT

Computing technology evolves rapidly, and each new generation of technology off ers new opportunities to improve the quality of human life. e target user population addressed broadens, while the type, functionality, and content of new products and services expand and diversify, and access technologies proliferate. At the same time, however, each new generation of technology has the potential of introducing new diffi culties and barriers in the use of products and services, and eventually, new risks for the health and safety of people, while new forms of social exclusion and discrimination emerge in everyday life.
