ABSTRACT
Chapters 1 through 7 detailed building a virtualization solution from the ground up. The installations of ESX 3.5, ESXi Server version 3.5, and VirtualCenter server were explained. We discussed configuring ESX 3.5 server storage and networking. We've seen the process of creating virtual machines from scratch and walked through rapidly deploying virtual machines using templates. These products do not address existing physical machines in the datacenter. Many organizations are faced with the challenge of moving operating systems and applications housed on existing physical machines into the virtualized environment. VMware has a solution to address this issue, VMware Converter Enterprise.
