At the ESX host level, an ESX administrator can use command line based tools to monitor various metrics. ESX hosts also offer numerous log files that can be reviewed when troubleshooting performance issues. VirtualCenter provides very useful information when diagnosing resource consumption issues. Using the VI Client allows an ESX administrator to quickly analyze ESX host and virtual machine CPU, memory, network I/O and disk I/O.
