ABSTRACT

Trace evidence in the form of small particles of matter and tiny bits of fibrous materials left at crime scenes or transferred between the people, places, and things involved in a crime have been used extensively in solving crimes and reconstructing events. Thus the recognition, documentation, collection, packaging, and preservation of trace evidence is of vital importance in all forensic investigations. Trace evidence is collected in many ways. However, a systematic approach to the collection of trace evidence is recommended.
