ABSTRACT

Two individuals go on decidedly different diets. One individual loses 18 pounds and the other loses 12 pounds. Which diet is more effective? With just this limited information, your best guess is probably the diet that resulted in a loss of 18 pounds. But what happens if you learn that the individual who lost 18 pounds was on a diet for 6 months, while the person who lost 12 pounds was on a diet for only 3 months?
