ABSTRACT
Pharmacokinetics is de‘ned as the discipline to study the time course of drug and metabolite concentrations in the blood or tissue after drug administration. Pharmacokinetics can be used in drug development to optimize therapy; it is used to determine the dose, dosage regimen (the frequency of dosing), and dosage formulations. Choosing the wrong dose, dosage regimen, or dosage form will render any drug ineffective. It is important to not only pick the right compound but also the right dose, dosage regimen, or dosage form.
