ABSTRACT

Aflatoxin has been considered one of the possible factors in the etiology of Reye’s syndrome, the nature of which remains obscure although 25 years have passed since the first report on it. This mysterious children’s disease, which attracts attention of clinical and laboratory research­ ers all over the world, is unquestionably a complex disorder, multifactorial in nature, and multisystem in involvement. This chapter reviews what knowledge has been acquired of this fascinating disease for a better understanding of its complexity.
