ABSTRACT
The ultimate objective of city planning is to provide for the future needs of the community in an effective, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. These needs will be directly related to, among other factors, the resident population of the planning area. Therefore, a study of the past and present resident population and of the probable future growth or decline in that population is an essential part of any city planning effort.
