ABSTRACT
The supervised predictive models include both regression and classification models. Classification models use categorical response, while regression models use continuous and binary or ordinal variables as targets. In regression we want to approximate the regression function, while in classification problems we want to approximate the probability of class membership as a function of the input variables.
