ABSTRACT
The introduction of antipsychotic agents in 1954 revolu tionized the treatment of psychosis (1). The use of antipsychotic agents has provided for rapid treatment and rehabilitation of many patients who formerly would have been hospitalized for long periods and suffered pro longed or lifelong difficulty (2).
