ABSTRACT
The autonomic nervous system is involved with the func tions of almost all organs and tissues of the body (1,2). The toxicologist must therefore have a working knowl edge of this system to understand the effects seen with many overdoses. This chapter reviews the autonomic ner vous system, and subsequent chapters focus on the drugs that affect it.
