Health care personnel are typically inexperienced in the evaluation and treatment of inhalation exposures, with the exception of a few common toxic inhalations. Fortunately, the treatment of a toxic inhalation is only supportive in most cases. However, in others the quick administration of a specific antidote is essential for patient survival (2).
