Narcotic antagonists are drugs that tend to block and reverse the effects of narcotics. They can be pure antago nists or partial antagonists, also referred to as mixed agonist-antagonists. Opioid agonist/antagonists were devel oped partly to avoid problems of abuse, although some have themselves been abused (1 ).
