this context, the establishment of innovative combinations of “in situ” and “ex situ” techniques is of great importance. These advanced methodologies will serve as a tool in order to monitor and control the evolution of nanostructure and other properties, which are highly relevant and crucial for the economic viability of a variety of processes involving nanoporous solids. The objective is the establishment of an innovative scheme of combinations of characterization techniques aided by advanced simulation techniques in order to optimize processes, spanning from the synthesis of materials (where particle size control, crystallization kinetics, etc. play a signi„cant role in the product) to processes involving sorbents, membranes, catalysts, and other novel nanomaterials.
