ABSTRACT
Case management is the organizational glue that binds together a coordinated plan of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services for patients. Case management is often seen as a solution for preventing medical or psychiatric rehospitalization, enhancing access to needed services across dierent delivery systems, and promoting improved patient functioning and quality of life. e role is far beyond the scope of the traditional medical tourism facilitator and is often practiced by a registered or advanced practice nurse who has passed a certi„cation examination.
