ABSTRACT
Chapter 5 discusses the challenges in implementing Lean and the change in culture that must occur in order to create a Lean environment. It explains the need to understand how foreign this culture can seem to many companies. Major indicators of potential success for change estimates are described and highlight the fact that there is approximately 30 to 50% or more MUDA (waste) in healthcare.
