ABSTRACT
Shinozaki and Yamaguchi-Shinozaki (2007) classied the products of drought-inducible genes into twogroups:regulatoryproteinsandfunctionalproteins.Inthischapter,thedrought-inducedcandidategenesdiscussedhaveallbeentransferredtodifferentplantspeciesandhavedemonstratedtheir role in conferring drought tolerance.
