ABSTRACT
The Metrosideros excelsa naturally grows in New Zealand. It produces red owers and contains anthocyanins and avonoids, which as antioxidants may have a positive impact on human diseases and health such as in cancer prevention and treatment. In addition, it has had a prominent role in the history of New Zealand and continues to be a symbol for the culture of the country.
