ABSTRACT

Much like lean practitioners who fuel their passion by challenging processes and growing people, individuals who are passionate about safety recognize that their passion is derived from the opportunity to interact with, develop, and protect people. People engagement is the common denominator in the necessarily painstakingly slow journey toward worldclass lean or world-class safety. It is difficult to change, grow, or develop a new business culture quickly. It is a multiyear journey. Companies that elect to follow the lean safety path to engage their staff can accomplish both safety and lean growth concurrently and speed their journey toward world class.
