ABSTRACT

The concept of “identity” was discussed in Chapters 1 and 2 in the context of the investigative star and what are generally known as class and individualising characteristics. As we explored identity we saw that the answer is contextual and depends on the question posed in the hypothesis. We also have seen that the investigative hypothesis has to be refined as possible explanations are either eliminated or find increasing support and that new information will provide entry points to other arms of the star.
