ABSTRACT

Flood warning is an essential tool in the management of Ÿoods, providing people with advance notice of Ÿooding in an effort to save lives and help people prepare before it happens. Flood warnings are provided to reduce the impacts of Ÿooding on people’s homes and businesses, through such means as moving belongings and furniture to a safer place or putting in place temporary measures to prevent Ÿoodwater from entering buildings. These actions contribute to saving money, stress, and time during the recovery period after Ÿoods.
