ABSTRACT

The role of power conversion is to facilitate the transfer of power from the source to the load by converting voltages and currents from one magnitude and/or frequency to another. This function of power processing is performed through an analog power circuit known as the power converter (see Fig. 2.1). A controller is required for the management of this power transfer process. The ultimate aim of the entire conversion process is to have as high an efficiency as possible, while achieving as closely as possible the desired conversion and control functions.
