ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Hand tools are commonly used on Indian farms. In Indian agriculture, hand tools, animal-drawn equipment and tractor/power operated machinery are extensively used for various operations. These equipments are either operated or controlled by human workers. Research and development in many pmis of the world have focused on methods for improving worker comfort and productivity. Tool design may play an important role in the development of work-related problems in the hand and forearm. By improving the ergonomic properties of hand tools the health of users and their job satisfaction might be positively affected In order to present ergonomically well-designed and comfortable hand tools, CATlA software is used and FEA analysis is made with ABAQUS and evaluation studies have been conducted with Subjective experiences of the subjects (to measure comfort or discomfort Corlett and Bishop technique is adopted) subjective measurements are preferred when evaluating hand tools on comfort and discomfOli, as comfort and discomfort are subjective feelings. To achieve goal, a designed hand tool evaluation study was conducted and Comfort Questionnaire for hand tools (CQH) is used and evaluated the modified trowel.
