This volume features the results of experiments on cell systems exposed to electric šelds (Chapters 3-12). Such experiments require a broad set of skills for their successful execution and interpretation because of their cross-disciplinary nature. The independent variable, the electric šeld or a related parameter to which the cell is exposed, must be well characterized. A variety of confounding factors that can reduce or even completely eliminate the action of the šeld must be identišed and eliminated.
