ABSTRACT

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) are the most abundant steroids in the human circulatory system (Baulieu and Robel 1996). DHEAS is the proposed storage form of active DHEA (Strous et al. 2005). DHEAS levels are 300-to 500-fold higher than DHEA levels.
