ABSTRACT

The science of sports nutrition has taught us how to utilize nutrients and their timing to help to elevate an athlete’s ability to perform. Through the integration of exercise physiology, nutrition, and endocrinology, we have been able to come up with fairly speci™c nutrition recommendations to give to an athlete to enhance recovery, improve strength, mediate fatigue, and speed recovery. However, even with the granularity that the science has given us, this extensive body of scienti™c research becomes obsolete if the athletes themselves do not change their nutritional behaviors.
