Components of the Air Cargo Transportation System –e American air cargo system integrates passenger and cargo carrying systems at the same airport-o§en in the same terminal. Companies that carry only freight generally have their own terminals on an air cargo part of
the ramp, while dual use companies like Delta and Lu§hansa integrate passengers, their luggage, mail, and cargo in the same plane. Dual use leads to cross contamination, mixing thoroughly screened passenger baggage with items that may have had screening or not.
