The process capability study flowchart found in Figure 3.6 applies to an attribute as well as a variable process capability study.
As mentioned in Chapter 3, attribute defects are those defects of a go or no go nature. When a molded product exhibits “voids” as opposed to the desired “no voids,” it is suffering from an attribute defect. Attribute defects associated with manufactured product can be more problematic and expensive than variable defects.
