ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the application of mass balances to different processes. Mass balances are the most important tool a process engineer possesses for analysis, design, operation, and troubleshooting. The chapter begins looking at the physical law that is used, as well as the equation for flow elements and experimental facts necessary to develop the models.
