ABSTRACT
This entry is a guide over the photon detectors sensing optical radiation. The discussion is focused mainly on current and most rapidly developing photoemissive, photoconductive, and photovoltaic detectors. The intent is to concentrate on approaches, materials, and device structures used in the fabrication of photon detectors. Finally, a short description of imaging arrays is presented.
