In the twenty-rst century, success will gravitate to knowledge organizations. To function in the information society and the knowledge economy, a knowledge organization must create and manage its knowledge assets to maximize their amount, availability, and usefulness for accomplishing business objectives. To succeed in the twenty-rst century, it must become a networked organization that facilitates knowledge sharing to leverage its value through reuse, to enable collaboration, and to mobilize it for addressing issues. To ourish in the twenty-rst century, it must use knowledge to fulll its mandate, extract intelligence from the environment, learn from experience, and adapt to evolving conditions.
