ABSTRACT
Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients that have medical or druglike bene’ts. A vast number of cosmetics and toiletries exist to care for and positively alter the appearance of the skin, hair, and nails. Skin care products, in the form of cleansers, toners, exfoliants, masks, moisturizers, specialty creams, and antiperspirants/deodorants, may con™ict with or augment the treatment of cutaneous dermatoses. Since seaweeds have been proven to have compounds with various biological activities, they can be used as potential agents in cosmeceutical formulations.
