ABSTRACT

The entry describes methods for gauging an organization's capability in project management. These include models from the Project Management Institute (OPM3) and Harold Kerzner, an author and expert on project management. Using Kerzner's model, the entry recommends the components an organization needs to be successful. Kerzner's progression has five steps: Common Language, Common Processes, Singular Methodology, Benchmarking, and Continuous Improvement. A mature organization with respect to project management, will use the same approach for all its projects, no matter what type they are.
