ABSTRACT
The entry describes ways to design supply chain networks to reduce risks. Component risks addressed include unpredictable demand, material disruptions, external factors like weather and political factors, economic factors, and problem in trading partner operations. The entry describes the origin of the term, “demand‐driven supply network,” and the need to be capable of adapting to environmental uncertainties.
