ABSTRACT
Return loops are important in the retail industry as in many others. The entry uses GENCO Supply Chain Solutions as an example of the services provided. The firm specializes in “reverse logistics.” The entry also summarizes the Supply Chain Council's SCOR model and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' “Process Standards” treatment of reverse loops. There are business opportunities in processing returns that many companies ignore or place in a secondary priority. A table provides examples included improved customer service, gaining a source of material, environmental mitigation, and improving the cash‐to‐cash cycle.
