ABSTRACT
Spacecraft are the primary example of systems requiring long periods of unattended
operation. Unlike most other applications, spacecraft must control their environment (such as electrical power, temperature, and stability) directly. Thus, one must treat all
aspects of a spacecraft (for example, structural, propulsion, power, analog, and digital) when designing for reliability.
