ABSTRACT

We were put up in a fairly new dormitory building owned and operated by the Hungarian Computer Society. A bit cramped, but adequate. A t least I had room to take off my coat without going into the hallway, which is more than I can say for some of the hotels I’ve stayed in recently in the Kensington section of London. The ICME sessions were held in the Technical University on the bank of the Danube, a nineteenth-century building sadly in need of upgrading. I recall passing the office of what in the USA would be called the university president and seeing the sign “Rector Magnificus” over the door. How wonder ful, how medieval, I thought.
