ABSTRACT

As seen in the last chapter, the tensor product spline surface formalism is no more complicated than tensor product Bézier surfaces. Just as the Bézier curve is a special case of the B-spline curve, the tensor product Bézier surface is a special case of the tensor product B-spline surface. In this chapter, we investigate modeling with tensor product B-spline surfaces, always noting the case for Bézier where applicable. We show both B-spline and Bézier surfaces over the same surface mesh as one means of comparison.
