ABSTRACT

Arbitrary wireframe configurations arise in many different application areas. The process of laying a surface over the wireframe models-interpolating the original data-is frequently called fleshing out wireframe models. It it also useful to use the wireframe as a control mesh for a B-spline surface. In the latter case, the need for a smooth surface is maintained, but the requirement for interpolation is removed, replaced with a requirement for shape control with the convex-hull property and variation-diminishing property.
