ABSTRACT
In the preceding chapter we discussed the differential equations determining the structure of a star. To complete the set of equations needed to solve for the seven variables appearing in these equations, we have to add the three equations for the gas characteristics: the equation of state, the equation for opacity, and the equation for the rate of nuclear reactions.
