Radiation Laboratory. Th eirs was an amazing bucket brigade of bright boys handing along their intellectual toil from one to the other, from one decade into the next. Equally amazing and improbable was that these same bright boys would themselves eventually converge, gathering together with their ideas and energy in the most unlikely of places: an old, rundown former laundry building in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a few hundred yards from the banks of the Charles River .
